Senior Scientist

Sr. Scientist, Product Development (Air Care) As a member of our Air Care product development team, the Senior Scientist, Product Development is responsible for developing new product formats, materials, and devices to meet the needs of our consumers in new and unique ways. This includes understanding and optimizing material interactions between carriers, fragrances, and device materials. This also includes a fundamental understanding of the needs/desires of our consumers and customers. They develop and execute novel technical solutions that meet previously unmet needs, while supporting the business strategy for successful product launches. They plan and perform laboratory experiments in the development of new delivery formats, work to integrate novel materials and delivery vectors into product offerings, and measure product properties, stability, and performance. They are also able to identify and assess technical problems and provide recommendations to management for solutions to these problems. As a materials and device development expert, they enhance product performance, optimize component cost, and lead supplier interactions to develop new and exciting technologies. What we offer Utilizes understanding of surface and material chemistries to identify new/modify existing technologies to develop new fragrance delivery systems. Develops experimental designs and work plans in the development of new products to meet desired performance metrics.  Works with third party suppliers in the invention, design, and development of novel delivery systems. Also works with these parties to optimize existing designs for better performance and/or better value. Works with fragrance partners on material compatibility of device componentry.  Since many of our delivery systems are powered, the candidate should have an interest in learning basic electronic componentry and future Internet of Things (IoT) capabilities, such as app integration.  Works on projects as a member of an integrated, cross functional project team. This includes working with Marketing counterparts to identify consumer/customer needs and translating these needs into technical solutions.   Works closely with packaging, process development, and manufacturing (internal and external) during development and commercialization of relevant products.   Maintains excellent lab book documentation of experimental results, conclusions, and next steps.   Plans and schedules project tasks related to laboratory experiments and consumer trials. Reports data, progress, and/or issues on a timely basis.   Runs standard and non-standard chemical, physical, or application tests to obtain data to evaluate composition and performance of competitive offerings.   Responsible for completing product development documentation tasks as part of the master data process.  Assists department staff in lab demonstrations for training programs and customer visits.  Who we are looking for Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Engineering, Product Design, or related field; plus 5 yrs of experience.  Relevant product development experience in consumer packaged goods preferred.   Ability to utilize good judgement to make timely, practical, and technically sound decisions.  Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work well as part of a small, success-focused team.  Basic personal computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets and databases. Experience with document control processes preferred.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
