Design Engineer Sr
Job Description :
Responsible and cognizant for significant tasks, projects, and issue resolution for drive systems on the Commercial S-76 and S-92 Helicopter product lines. Designs major components, or major portions of Drive system. Develop and or improve products, pursue cost savings, and facilitate manufacturing operations. Investigates pertinent design factors such as ease of manufacture, availability of materials and equipment, interchangeability, replace ability, strength-weight efficiency, Regulatory requirements and cost. Coordinates with other organizations affected by design development, in particular aftermarket support in-service and at overhaul. Identifies design errors, omissions, and other deficiencies, and recommends revisions and/or improvements in design layout to program team. Evaluates potential safety alerts and prepares coordinated engineering response with corrective action plan. Will have responsibility to direct work of other team members via the IPT process, and be responsible for task management duties.
Basic Qualifications
BS degree in a relevant Engineering discipline such as Mechanical, Aeronautics/ Aerospace or equivalent. Minimum 5 years experience in related field.
Desired skills
Evaluate mechanical components and functionality, familiar with standard design processes, structural evaluation, project management. Be able to be trained if not familiar, with Catia V5, and GD&T techniques. Be able to understand and comprehend engineering drawings. Be able to research legacy data found in reports and drawings. Strong interpersonal skills as a member of an IPT in a highly customer focused environment.
