Position
Summary:
Perform specific responsibilities assigned by the Laboratory Director, Technical Director, and Lab Manager/Supervisor.
Also, perform a variety of administrative and technical activities as directed by the Laboratory Director, Technical Director, Lab Manager/Supervisor, and Customer Service.
Job Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
Follow the laboratory's pre-analytic maintenance of test records.
Adhering to the laboratory's quality assurance procedures.
Maintains a sterile and organized work area, and document cleaning according to procedure.
Communicate any complaints, grievances, or potential violations of state and federal law to the Lab Director.
Adhering to laboratory SOPs, safety regulations, HIPAA regulations, and company policies to perform daily duties accurately.
Entering patient information and demographics into the lab information system (LIS) accurately.
Ensuring accurate and detailed uploading of information and testing codes.
Following the company's accessioning policies and protocols thoroughly.
Scan and file requisition forms/load lists and patient information.
Communicate effectively with client offices via customer service to obtain missing information and maintain an up-to-date electronic missing information log.
Maintain a clean and organized work area, including the accessioning room and computers.
Participate in appropriate continuing education (CE) programs.
Promote good public relations through productive and professional interaction with other staff.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned by the Laboratory Manager/Supervisor, Technical Director, Laboratory Director, or Customer Service.
Additional Qualifications At least one year of data entry experience in a CLIA licensed clinical laboratory preferred.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Skills Must demonstrate basic computer skills as required to successfully perform their job duties.
Must have experience with laboratory procedures and protocols.
Must be detail oriented.
Must possess superior communication and teamwork abilities.
Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions related to patient testing.
